Haha, I agree. It was quite funny to review the book, but I really did enjoy most of it (I'll admit to quickly scanning through the chapter on makeup).

My mom had a copy of her first book, Inside My Heart, and I began reading it one day. I was also surprised by how well written and entertaining it was. It had some really good advice as well. It's pretty funny that you had to review this book :)

Chris, thanks for the compliment (I think it's a compliment! Haha).

Tolkien has quite a way with both words and stories, and it's fun to be diving back in.

Chris, thanks for your words. I agree with all your points, and they are a good clarification of what I was trying to say at the end. I wasn't clear as to how we are blessed in death, but you've done a great job of explaining that.

As far as praying that we should not die, I don't have a prepared answer for that. I am reminded of Paul, or Elijah in 1 Kings 19, who prayed for death. But I can't think of a prayer that death should not come (Christ's prayer in the garden is the obvious example of praying that suffering should not come, and I think we are free to pray against trials so long as we know that they may be part of God's will.)

Again, thanks for the response and the wise words.
