Apparently, Gov. Palin was called by a Canadian comedian posing as the French President, and she never realized it was a joke.
When Palin was told that the caller could see her as President, she laughed and said, “Maybe in 8 years.”

I was surprised to hear that Colin Powell, former Secretary of State, today endorsed Barack Obama.  According to an AP article,

I enjoyed the intro to SNL tonight, featuring Sarah Palin.  I’ve had a hard time accepting all the mocking of politicians that our society has embraced, but I am thinking that an approach of showing willingness to laugh at oneself is a good thing.
